Charles H. Emely, PhD, CAE, CMP
Executive Director and CEO
Chuck has been Executive Director and CEO of AREMA since November 1998. He was formerly President and Chief Operating officer of Comprehensive Business Consultants, Inc., an international consulting firm serving associations, Government and business's. Chuck has earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation, as well as the Certified Meetings Professional (CMP) designation. He holds advanced degrees in corporate communications and management. He has served as chief executive of several trade and professional associations, and has consulted with all types of not-for-profit organizations. Chuck is an active member of several professional associations, including the American Society of Association Executives and serves on the Executive Committee of the Alliance for International Meetings and Commerce (AIMC).
Beth Caruso, CAE
Director of Administration
Beth joined AREMA in early May 1999 and is responsible for all administrative matters, including publication orders and fulfillment. Beth also provides support to the Board of Governors, Board of Directors and the Executive Office. She has many years of experience in administration and customer service. Beth has a BA degree in English with a concentration in Media Communications from High Point University in North Carolina. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2010.
Vickie Fisher, CAE
Director of Finance
Vickie joined AREMA in May 2001 as Director of Finance. She is responsible for the finance and human resources of AREMA. Vickie has more than 20 years of experience in Finance and Accounting and attended Cedarville University in Ohio and graduated from the University of Phoenix with a BS degree in Business Accounting. She has been a member of American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) since 2001 and earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2014.
Stacy Spaulding, CAE
Director of Committees and Technical Services
Stacy joined AREMA in July 1999, and is responsible for coordinating and supporting the work of all AREMA Committees. She is also responsible for the pre-publication aspects of all AREMA Manuals and other publications. Stacy coordinates the AREMA Student Chapters and student activities, as well as the Scholarship and annual Dr. W.W. Hay Award programs. Stacy graduated with honors from Frostburg State University with a BA in Psychology. Stacy brings considerable association and membership management experience to AREMA. She has been a member the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) since 1997 and earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2007.
Director of Membership and Information Systems
Janice joined AREMA in January 2000. She has ten years of experience in managing association membership services and database information systems. Janice is responsible for membership recruitment and retention, and for the management of the AREMA database. She has a BS degree from Bowie State University. She is a member the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
Desirée Knight, CMP
Director of Conferences & Seminars
Desirée joined AREMA in July, 2000. Prior to joining AREMA she held various meeting and trade show planning positions with a large foundation, a trade association and a national trade show production company. Desirée is responsible for the logistical planning and support for the AREMA Annual Conference & Exposition, Seminars and other various meetings. Her degree is from West Los Angeles College. She is an active member of the Professional Convention Meeting Association (PCMA) and American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). She is also active on a few industry boards. She received her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation in 2006.
Director of Marketing
Lisa joined AREMA in November 2007 as Manager of Marketing and Program Services. Lisa is responsible for all marketing projects and tasks. Lisa has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing concentrating on Advertising and Promotion from Pace University. Lisa brings several years of customer service experience to AREMA. Lisa was promoted to Director of Marketing in November 2010. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
Manager of Marketing & Communications
Lindsay joined AREMA in early January 2014 as Manager of Marketing and Communications. Lindsay is responsible for all marketing and communication tasks. Lindsay has BS and MBA degrees in Marketing from York College of Pennsylvania. Lindsay brings several years of marketing and customer service experience to AREMA. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
Christy Thomas, CEM
Christy joined AREMA in February 2010 as a Project Assistant. Christy assists each department with various duties, but works primarily with the Meetings and Exposition Departments. She has several years of customer service experience and most recently worked at Freeman as an exposition services coordinator. She is a graduate of Salisbury University with a BS Degree. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and earned her Certified Exhibit Management (CEM) designation in 2009. Christy was promoted to Events Manager in July 2012.
Allison joined AREMA in May 2009 as a Project Assistant. Allison assists each department with various duties and projects. She has several years of customer service experience and is a recent graduate of Coastal Carolina University where she earned her BA degree. Allison was promoted to Executive Assistant in April 2010. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE).
